What does ‘content of global interest’ mean?

Content of global interest implies the type of content that would appeal to people in most countries and languages around the world. It is the converse of content of local interest. It makes sense to only translate content in which people who are searching for such content in their own language will be interested.

What if only some of my content is of global interest, can I still join iBolz?

You can submit your website for evaluation. This will determine how well your content meet the iBolz criteria for acceptance. Extracting content, processing into other languages and optimizing it for search requires effort and time. There is a cutoff beyond which it is not economical to handle some types of content.

What happens to my copyrights and trademarks?

Nothing changes your copyrights and use of your trademarks under the iBolz agreement. Read the Content Licensing Agreement and General Terms and conditions for more details.

What are the procedures for acceptance into the iBolz program and how long will it take?

All content is submitted through websites. IBolz uses a set of predefined criteria to accept or reject a website into the program. Among the things we do include a check against the WHOIS database to verify ownership of the website against the information you provide when you submit your website. We evaluate the content relevance, level of global interest, volume of content, original language, technology used and a number of similar criteria and a score is assigned to each. Websites that meet the cutoff are accepted. Those that fall short are not accepted.

How will you determine my percentage of the advertising revenues?

Each website submitted to iBolz will be evaluated for acceptance. Upon acceptance into the iBolz program, we will calculate the percentage of advertising revenues we will offer you from the result of the evaluation. The higher the score the higher the percentage we offer. We will notify you of our offer when we complete the process. You have the right to refuse the offer in which case we will remove the website from our database.

What if I want to license content to you from multiple websites?

We welcome multiple websites. We make it easy to submit multiple websites by one user for acceptance into iBolz. In the event you wish to add other websites after your first submission, you can login to iBolz to add new websites to your account.

How much of my content will be translated?

This is entirely within the discretion of the iBolz evaluators. It depends on which sections of your content is relevant to a global audience. Ideally we would like to translate your entire content. In reality, some segments of a website will not be relevant, in which case we will alter or remove it before translation.

How many languages will you translate my content into?

Our aim is to maximize the return on investment from advertising revenues earned by publishing in multiple languages. The specific languages we translate into will be determined by factors such as economic conditions, sector, level of interest, advertising programs offered and such.

Under which URL will you publish the translated content?

During evaluation we will determine which URL would best suit the translated content and has the greatest potential to generate the highest revenues. This could be a new URL or an existing one.

Will I be able to view the translated websites?

In general the answer is no. We do this to avoid exposure to click risks where someone who benefits from clicks will be tempted to click on advertising. Also, a particular website could contain content from several different sources.

Will there be links to the original website or acknowledgements of the original content author?

Yes! If we translate the entire website, we will include a link to the original site. We will also add acknowledgements of the original content or author.

Should I be concerned about the quality of the translation?

In general, no. There is no direct connection between your original website and the translated content. iBolz and its collaborators continuously strive to produce the best quality in the translated versions.
